I think a lot of the problem is a lack of Christian values in Christians. So many live their lives hating what is different than them, pretending they know what is right (only God does), and misuing the Bible to support their own personal agenda and leaving out the bits that don't suit their needs. How does the Bible not incite violence or depict harm? How does your opion that you know what's best for everyone show your appreciation for God's creatation rather than your contempt for it? Besides, I am extremely glad that laws are not based on the Bible, and I hope they never are. As soon as we do, we'll just become like those Sharia-loving radical Muslims everyone seems to loathe. Are you aware that most pedophiles are religious? The Christian sect (a very pious group) that were recently brought to court for forcing girls to marry and/or have sex with much older men in Texas is a good example.

On another note, "true Christians" have been extinct for decades. Now we have the Tea Party.
