Billy Graham Books and Publications

Millions of copies of Mr. Graham’s books have been sold in 38 languages around the world.

“Peace With God” was Mr. Graham’s first book and has been a best-seller since it was first published in 1953, with over two million copies distributed. A completely revised and expanded edition was released by Word, Inc. in 1984. A revised edition of “The Secret of Happiness,” Billy Graham’s commentary on the Beatitudes, first published in 1955, was also released by Word, Inc. in 1985.

“A Biblical Standard for Evangelists” was released by World Wide Publications in 1984. It was written as a commentary on 15 Affirmations accepted by over 4,000 evangelists from around the world who attended the historic International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists held in Amsterdam in 1983.

“Approaching Hoofbeats: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” was released by Word, Inc. in 1983, and reached its fifth printing by February 1984. Over 550,000 copies are in print. Word and Avon released the trade and mass paperback editions in early 1985.

“Till Armageddon” (released February 1981) went into its eighth printing within three months; “The Holy Spirit” (released late in 1978) sold over 300,000 copies in the first 90 days; “How to Be Born Again” (1977) had a first printing of 800,000 copies; “Angels: God’s Secret Agents” (released in September 1975, by Doubleday) sold over one million cloth copies within 90 days.

Other major titles by Mr. Graham are “My Answer” (1960); “World Aflame” (1965), which has sold more than two million copies since publication; “The Challenge” (1969); and “The Jesus Generation” (1971). Mr. Graham has also written many shorter books and contributed to volumes compiled or edited by others.

“In 1990, four of Mr. Graham’s books were honored by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. “Angels” and “Till Armageddon” received Platinum Book Awards for having sold 2,202,050 and 1,134,976 copies respectively. “Approaching Hoofbeats” and “The Holy Spirit” each received a Gold Book Award for having sold 973,823 and 945,348 copies respectively. Numerous books have been written about Mr. Graham. British biographer John Pollock wrote the most widely circulated volume, “Billy Graham: The Authorized Biography,” which was published by McGraw-Hill in 1966. In 1979 Pollock wrote “Billy Graham: Evangelist to the World,” which covered Mr. Graham’s ministry during the 70s. “To All the Nations” by Pollock, published by Harper and Row in 1985, selects major episodes from the dramatic years of Mr. Graham’s life. Other biographies, “A Prophet with Honor” by William Martin, was published by William Morrow and Company in 1991 and most recently, “The Evangelist” by Lewis Drummond, was published by Word Publishing in 2001.

In his autobiography, “Just As I Am,” released by HarperCollins/Zondervan April 30, 1997, Mr. Graham reflects on his life and nearly 60 years of ministry around the world. He shares how his unwavering faith in Christ formed and shaped his career, from humble beginnings as the son of a dairy farmer in North Carolina. One week in the first month following its release the book accomplished a “triple crown”—simultaneously number one on the top three best-seller lists—The New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal.

A pictorial book “Billy Graham: God’s Ambassador” published by Time Life, Inc., was released in October 1999. It contains personal reflections and hundreds of photographs captured through the lens of his photographer, Russ Busby, who has spent most of his life documenting Billy Graham’s ministry around the world. How can I get a list of all of Billy Graham's books?
