There are several bands that have their music sold at Christian bookstores and played by Christian radio stations. (Hawk Nelson, Switchfoot to name a few) Their lyrics however make no reference to God or Jesus or anything "Christian." So what makes these bands grouped into Christian music? What qualifies a music band as being "Christian" or having a genre of "Religious."?
Some of Switchfoot songs do make it in the Christian genre, maybe you should listen to all of their songs before you say that none of their songs are Christian.
Oh, and most of the time they are put in the Christian category becuase the artists is Christian.
Maybe if the members are outspokenly Christian or if the lyrics are not offensive? I really don't know. What qualifies a music band as being "Christian" or having a genre of "Religious."?
Maybe it's a gimmick, I've seen other businesses advertise themselves as "Christian", insurance companies for example, doesn't have anything to do with being christian, it's just for advertising purposes.
-They think they can gain trust automatically by stating that they are Christian.
Christian rock songs use the method of changing the word "baby" in mainstream pop music to "Jesus"What qualifies a music band as being "Christian" or having a genre of "Religious."?
I believe it's the "Harp" solos!
This makes them stand out, from all the rest of the bands!
