While atheists testify to their own intelligence they believe the most godawful, blatant lies to ever come down the track. The only thing I can attribute this to is, 1. They are not as IQ blessed as they claim. 2. they are full of the devil and therefore prone to believe his lies. 3. Being of satan almost requires them to disclaim all Godly things and truths. 4. They are in big-time denial of these truths as well as what you stated, trying to disprove the Bible and thus prove there is no God either. 5. It is a self-preservation attempt, a childish attempt at making God disappear by closing their eyes.

The Hebrew people originally worshipped a pantheon of gods headed by El, who was Yahweh's father. Later this dropped down to worship just of Yahweh and the goddess Asherah, then eventually just Yahweh.
