Jesus ran through the Temple with a bullwhip?

Would Jesus Christ be arrested today for running through a religious shopping mall with a bullwhip, for example, a bookstore (books, Bibles) associated with TBN or Daystar Christian TV or a religious store associated with the European Catholic Churches (rosaries, books)?

...Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14: And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16: And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

(Bible: Chapter 2, John)

Yes, He could be arrested as He could back then. What some people fail to get is the fact that He did this not with an anger we as humans demonstrate, but with righteous indignation for the misuse of His father's Holy temple.
Yes, he would be arrested for it now, just as he was arrested for it then. But I fail to see the connection between the Temple of Herod and a Protestant bookstore.Jesus ran through the Temple with a bullwhip?
Not really...... nothing wrong with selling bibles, Christian books, etc. And remember it was the fact that these things - the buying and selling, the display of greed, etc. - were being done in His Father's house - in the temple - that angered Him.

Where is the Father's house today? where is the temple of God?

Our bodies! And, collectively, the body of Christ.

(See 1 Corinthians chapters 3 %26amp; 6)

So what God wants to do is to purge our hearts - and our fellowships - from all uncleanness, hypocrisy, greed, etc.

god bless
that is so kinky--I LOVE Jesus!Jesus ran through the Temple with a bullwhip?
All that scripture says is to not put so much faith in THINGS and MONEY in God's home....

Not very complicated is it?

He wouldn't be arrested for it today, but probably sent in for psychological assessment at the least.
When you don't have a good valid intellectual argument you start beating people up. If god can't win an intellectual argument he must be not so smart after all.
There is a little bit of a difference between TBN and the Temple of GOD. Jesus Christ was, naturally correct in what He did.

As He would be correct to-day in most Churches of America.
A "bullwhip" may be a bit of an exaggeration....

However, He did drive the merchants and the money changers out of the Temple.

Now, read the rest of the story...it was the Temple that was behind His (illegal) arrest, it was the Temple that declared that He had committed crimes deserving the death penalty...and it was the Temple that forced Pilate to sign the order condemning Him...against the governor's will.

And, to answer your question, yes, if Jesus were to do the same thing in our "mega churches" today, they would react exactly the same way.

Tells you something about what was important to Jesus...

and what is important to these "followers", doesn't it?

So, next time someone asks you what is one difference between a "Christian" and a "true Christian"...you have at least one reference to go by.

God bless!!
a shopping mall is a place of business, a Christian book store, is the same, Jesus through the merchandiser out of the church, not out of a place of business. Esencially, a church is gods house, not a mall, do your business elsewhere. I wouldn't want people selling things in my house, or to come to my house to ignore me a by a pig off my neighbor , with the pig trompping around, and the mud on his hooves. Our lord is holy, and he should be exhaulted with our praise not with the mud off a dirty animal, and someone making money off that animal.
i had this vision, about Jesus going through the church and turning over the tables of stuff they were trying to sell to make money for themsleves out of the church.
Jesus can raise some Holy Hell
There is no comparison of the Temple to a book store. They thing is that Jesus was not happy with the people turning the house of God into a market place. See they made the same mistake that you did, in thinking that there is no difference between the house of God and a market.
