Should I bother going to see the new Narnia movie or are they going to turn it into Fundiestock '08?

I found the first movie somewhat entertaining, except that some people in the theater seemed to think they were attending some sort of religious service. (This included loud whispers from some people pointing out Christian themes in the movie.) I've heard other people say the same thing about other screenings around the city.

Should I expect more of the same with the new movie? I've noticed that a few Christian bookstores are holding "Prince Caspian leadership training" for local church leaders.

Also, have other people noticed this in their cities or am I just lucky?Should I bother going to see the new Narnia movie or are they going to turn it into Fundiestock '08?
Well it is only normal. The books themselves, written by C.S. Lewis, were written with a Christian audience in mind with Christian themes. It is only natural they would all pour to see it and point those things out.

I personally didn't bother watching the first one for that same reason.
Let the fundies have their fun. They're still traumatised by the deeply satanic Harry Potter.

Bless their tiny minds!

*That 'son of Adam' rubbish irked me but then the original was no different as I understand it so let the theists enjoy it. The next golden compass flick will probably stick a potato in their tailpipes.*Should I bother going to see the new Narnia movie or are they going to turn it into Fundiestock '08?
no

see movies..
Expect more of the same.

The Narnia books by C.S. Lewis were certainly written with Christian themes, symbolism, etc. So the movies will be true to the books!

It is unfortunate that some moviegoers treated it like a religious service - but, hey, they didn't pass around a collection plate, did they?

Doesn't anyone just go to a movie for enjoyment anymore?
what... they started a sermon during the movie? wow!

haha, i'll interpret loud whisperings liberally... but they didnt get up and start saying

"fellow brothers and sisters, this is how we must be... we must FIGHT!!!"
Do NOT expect it to be as good as the first movie. Prince Caspian will be way better than The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Go watch it. You won't regret it!
C. S. Lewis is the person who wrote the Chronicles of Narnia series of books. C. S. Lewis was a devout Christian.

The entire Narnia series has Christian related themes in them but are not necessarily religious. You can watch the movies and take away from them morals from the story that are good for everyday life, not just Christian life.

Yes, you should expect more of the same from this movie. The theaters will be filled with Christians who want to see a good family oriented movie. But don't let that stop you from seeing it. It will be a good movie nonetheless.
