wholesome dvds for my children to watch.



Ive completely removed our antennae and will only allow my children to watch dvds that are inspirational and spread the word of Jesus. In the States, I had no problem finding Christian bookstores, bt in this country its like finding a needle in a haystack. You only find these unholy and false Muslum stores



Could you recommend any dvds of this nature that is also of good quality?



Ive recently got a movie called "Joshua" which is really lovely movie and Ive seen a few that are religious but a bit on the boring side

Most of what is available in the UK is either from the states or a copy.

If you look on Sky, apart from all the other junk/repeats there are numerous religious channels - mainly american. Find them and you will think you are at home!!
What on earth are you trying to do with your children? Isolate them and insulate them from the outside world? Not everything on tv is rubbish and why are they watching so many DVDs? Enrol them in swimming/football/cricket/tennis/judo/ho鈥?riding/ballet/dance, the scouts, girl guides or whatever but don't try and over protect them - one day they have to be able to face the world.Moved here to England a few months ago and am sick of the garbage on TV here. It sounds like you are somewhat of a control freak. Coming from a country which churns out so much sub standard drivel I am amazed that you find our television so bad. Why on earth do you stop your children listening to the news? How do they keep up with what is going on in the real world? Who puts the newspaper stories into "proper context"? I presume it is you and you will of course put your own slant on any story rather than let the children decide for themselves.
Buy a TV satellite package online which will allow you to receive all your wonderful american programmes through your computer.

You will be alienating your children if they don`t get the opportunity to watch and enjoy some of what their school friends do.Why not allow them the opportunity to chose to follow their own religion when they are old enough instead of drumming into them now because it what you believe.Moved here to England a few months ago and am sick of the garbage on TV here. i hate all forms of religious fundamentalism and by censoring what your children are watching (you may see it as unholy, i see it as differing points of view) - you are brainwashing your kids and I see it as a form of child abuse, and i wonder what kind of nutters your kids will turn out to be
We watch Are You Being Served, Waiting for God and Keeping Up Appearances as relief from American TV.



We have not watched Disney movies or programs in a long while but they tend to wholesome, especially the older recordings.

However I do think that you should give your children SOME freedom to make up their own minds and choose their own path.
if you were looking for spiritual guidance suggest that the UK not the best place to come. We are still basically a Christian country, but you seem to be a tad narrow minded if you don't mind me saying.

Fundamental Christianity may be big in the U.S. but apart from some Scottish and Northern Irish Presbyterians is is considered very odd in the UK.



Fundamentalism of any kind is wrong, you might consider Muslims 'false and unholy' but anyone who claims to be serving Christ by bombing abortions clinics or shooting doctors is as deranged as any Al Quida terrorist.



Your Children will have to live in the real world, censoring their view of that world will only make them intolerant of difference and affect their relationships when they get older. By all means bring your children up as Christians, but Christ was part of a community and didn't stomp of and sulk on his own when he saw things he disagreed with.



What would you do if Christ re appeared in a community that you considered as unholy or false? I can guarantee he will not be white middle class working 9-5 in a good job.
