A difficult problem that I would like Muslims to help me with! Preferably reverts please!?

Salaam!

I am going to revert to Islam and in my efforts I have hit a snag!



I need a PRINTED version of the english translation of the Quran but I cannot get it.



People have said ok just read it online but reading off the computer screen hurts my eyes and gives me migraine head aches because of an eye problem I have. So my progress has been slow and laborious, I am not half way through and I should have finished long ago. Instead I have had to research about Islam without directly reading the actual text.



Completely not good enough, I need it printed but I am in a Christian family in Ireland with no Mosques within 100 miles. If I went to a bookstore my parents would see what books I bought since they would bring me there(I live in the country lol).



I can't order over ebay or anything since I am not old enough to have my own credit card details.



I cannot take the Shahada(I was taught the private method by a correspondent of mine who is an Islam scholar) until I read it.



Please help, I am quite desperate! I do not know what to do!A difficult problem that I would like Muslims to help me with! Preferably reverts please!?

ok now you dont need to know the entire quran to say the shahada .(am not sure if i understand you).

if you truly believe in what you testify , say it without any delay.



you may read other books , articles (some hardly take 15-30 mins )..to learn more about islam , to strengthen your faith .

u can order quran for free online . i would suggest you read the translation by "muhammad muhsin khan and taqi-uddin hilali ".

the one by yusuf ali is really good but the former is better when it comes to simplicity in language and containing the least no. of errors.



if you want to listen to the recitation and read the translation simultaneously , then you should be downloading the free quran recitor software from http://www.shaplus.com its really worth (.translators = pickthall,yusuf ali and shakir .)

There are free Quran's in English that can be sent to your home.

If you can stop by the bookstore and buy Yusuf Ali's translation of the Quran, thats the one I read, and I love it!

i think that maybe u could just go and print out the whole translations and copy and paste them on microsoft word and then print it off

it might take a while

Contact any of the Embassies/Consulates of Arab countries. They will provide you a copy of the Quran translation.
Can you not print the online version?

If you can't get to a bookstore have a look at Amazon, some sellers may accept a postal order.
There are loads of different sites that will give/send you one FREE.

Just google the words free quran and you will find several sites that are willing to send you one.

In my opinion it is the BEST translation of the Quran ever. Although many people here will say, "Don't". The reason is that the author (Rashad Khalifa) later claimed to be a messenger i.e. "Messenger of Covenant as prophecied in "Malachi".



There are some other good translations also available. One such translation should be available from "www.19.org"



and



www.yuksel.org

However I would STRONGLY recommend the translation by RK (Rashad Khalifa) as it unveils many things and ALSO is the MOST EASIEST translation (in easiest modern English). The flow of the translation is simply UNMATCHED. Although some matters are disputable but it does convey meanings of many verses which were and are not understandable by any of the corrupt writers.
Its nice to see you are so fond of Islam and want to explore the religion more. I have alot of muslim friends...I am Christian but since I study in Bradford I have alot of muslim friends here. Since you cant get to a local mosque and cant purchase one off eBay this is going to be something of a challenge. If you want to purchase off ebay you dont really need a credit card, many sellers accept postal orders or cheque. The best thing I can do is get a friend to send you a copy. It is all translated in english. I think Ive seen it and it has arabic above and english translation underneath. I can try to send you one off my friend if you are really desperate for it...let me know and I will see what I can do...
