Why do non-believers attack so obstinately?

Why is it that I cannot turn on my TV or go on you-tube or even a bookstore without being viciously and savagely vilified for my beliefs? It seems to me that atheism is more about attacking religion than it is in having blind faith in a volatile foundation known as science. I am not trying to being aggressive, just defensive. If you do not believe in God then do not believe in God. Just leave the Christians alone.Why do non-believers attack so obstinately?
You're a 75% majority complaining about being opressed by a 10% minority. Cry me a river and get over yourself.
No, I care about the future of this world. And as a minority non-brainwashed, non-religious person, I feel obligated to let the Christians and other people know how absurdly unlikely it is that their beliefs are true.



Let me say it in a way that you might understand: If a third of the world sincerely believed in the existence of leprechauns and worshiped them just as Christians believe and worship their god, would you think the leprechaun-believers were crazy? Would you blame people for saying that the leprechaun-believers are blatantly wrong about there being leprechauns?Why do non-believers attack so obstinately?

Honestly, I don't care if you have a religion or not, as long as it doesn't harm anyone. But if the topic of religion comes up in a forum (whether that's television or youtube or books in a bookstore) then don't expect people who disagree with you to remain silent.

it's hard to be a christian when many people think of christians as all being evangelical nutcases, but it's hard to be an atheist when people think that you are an empty shell with no morals. i suggest that you ignore all of the attacks on you beliefs and get on with your life, because they're not going to stop anytime soonWhy do non-believers attack so obstinately?
I sure hope that you in no way seriously think that our criticism of your religion should be censored when your own people are trying to LEGISLATE their beliefs in a country that is supposed to be built upon the doctrine of separation of church and state. Excuse me if I call you a hypocrite.
I feel the same. I have to put up with everyone's belief but there is no tolerance for mine. I wish I did not hear the things people say about God. I turn off or change the channel when that comes on. I feel bad for people like that who will one day be in heaven and have to face the one they made fun of.

atheists arent the ones that made the first attack. took a long time of fighting to get us to the point that atheists and religious minorities wouldnt be executed for their beliefs. which is what you believers did.
Viciously.. savagely.. Nice word choice? (not). Anyway, most atheists don't attack religion, rather try to protect laws from involving religion. (And protect themselves when it is thrown upon them)

atheists make up about 15% of the population.. christians are by far the large majority. stop acting so victimized.
