Christians: What is the proper way to deal with this menace?

The fourth commandment says:

"Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. For six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns." [Exodus 20: 8-9]

Ok, that is pretty clear cut.

But the following companies are open on the sabbath:

Wal-mart Target Best Buy Circuit City Home Depot Lowes. Even Christian Family Bookstores has employees working on the Sabbath.

note: these are all open 7 days, so it does not matter which day you decide to pick for the sabbath.

What should we do with all of these people who are breaking the fourth commandment?

Exodus 31 verse 15 tells us exactly what to do:

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death."

My questions are:

1) Do you agree with the 4th Commandment?

2) If you do not agree with it, then is the bible wrong?

3) If you do agree with it, then what is the best way to kill 10's of millions of Americans?

(thanks to GII for this question)

Thanks for the video. It further helps to support my claim to be an atheist. It also ask questions that no Christian can answer. Good job for finding this jewel,

However I don't like you pointing the finger specifically at Americans. I think this is a global issue.
Your question #3 could probably get you into all kinds of legal trouble if the right people are monitoring the web.

The government has all kinds of monitoring equipment that scans the web, just like they scan random phone calls and other such things. When their equipment pick up key words that could possibly be interpreted as a threat, they will look you up.

You might want to ask your parents for help, before you get yourself in any deeper.Christians: What is the proper way to deal with this menace?
Because christians do to ignorance observe the Sabbath on the wrong day when the biblical sabbath is a Saturday. They listen to their preachers they do not read their bibles. The creator has proclaimed that the next world wide conflagration will be with fire.
I agree with all the commandments but I keep it in perspective. So no, I don't agree with your assessment of this

edit: are you putting words in my mouth? Or are you trying to validate your opinionChristians: What is the proper way to deal with this menace?
HOLY AND BIBLE ALYWAYS CAPITIALIZE AND THE BIBLE IS NEVER WRONG
God was talking to Israel

Christians have their rest in Christ

Did you know that the Sabbath was not intended for worship but for rest only?
Pray for the folks who work on the Sabbath day.

God will deal with them.
Next time there's a knock on your door it might be the G-Men, coming to see you about question 3.
We don't live under the law anymore.

Not repealed. The only reason they were given to Moses in the first place was to show us our wrong. They were not meant to keep perfectly, because no one is perfect.

When Jesus came, he did away with the law, that's why the pharasies hated him. They were the religious leaders of the time, and they got mad at someone for not keeping the sabbath and Jesus said who are you to tell them what to do, when you do way worse.
Don’t you have any idea when that ended and why? Also, more study on scripture needs to be done to see this applied to more than just the Sabbath. It used to be for any Commandment that was broken wilfully but it did not apply when done in ignorance, meaning not wilfully or on purpose as shown by the context. Did they use to stone the adulterer as an example and proof?

In any case this of course ended a long time ago. But have you ever heard of the death penalty today with mans law? So does this need to be of any more concern to you? Are you okay with not wilfully murdering anyone? How do you avoid this death penalty?

God’s people were also not allowed to inter marry and the reason for the strictness was because these people were to bring forward the seed of Christ who was to save the entire world. It does not get any more important than that. God had no choice but to be strict because of this. But since it did not apply to the ignorant, death was easily avoided by not being wilfully disobedient.

Exodus 31:14 “You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people.”

This verse says the person who profanes the Sabbath will be put to death and that person will be CUT OFF from among his people. So why the apparent contradiction? Does it mean separated (cut off) from his people or put to death? It does in fact mean put to death as CUT OFF was a phrase that meant to be put to death in those days. Read Gills Commentary on this verse.

John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible. Dr. John Gill (1690-1771)

“that soul shall be cut off from among his people; that is, shall die by the hand of the civil magistrate, it being but another phrase for being put to death;”

Reading the passage carefully below you will note being CUT OFF (put to death) applied to all the Commandments but again, only those broken in ignorance. Straight after this is spoken, we find an example and in this case it just happened to be the Sabbath. It could have been any Commandment such as wilful murder and it would have still been the same result.

For even further confirmation, compare the Good News Bible for verses 30 and 31 in regards to being CUT OFF and that this does in fact mean put to death.

Numbers 15:30-31 GNB “But any who sin deliberately, whether they are natives or foreigners, are guilty of treating the LORD with contempt, and they shall be put to death, 31 because they have rejected what the LORD said and have deliberately broken one of his commands. They are responsible for their own death.”

Numbers 15:28-41 “And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth IGNORANTLY, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. 29 You shall have one law for him that sinneth through IGNORANCE, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them. 30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be CUT OFF from among his people. 31 Because he has despised the word of the LORD, and has BROKEN his COMMANDMENT, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. 32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day. 33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. 36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. 37 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, 38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: 39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that you may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that you seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to go a whoring: 40 That you may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. 41 I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.”
