Most atheists don't read the Bible or study archeology. Would you agree?

Mainstream archeology backs up the Bible. Only a SMALL faction of liberal colleges disbelieve without evidence to disbelieve.

I went to a Christian bookstore and I found multiple books written BY ARCHEOLOGISTS that have actually been to the Middle East and they say time and time again, the Bible has been PROVEN to be extremely accurate.

Also, most atheists read SELECTED SECTIONS of the Bible. Here's the thing: If you ONLY READ BAD PARTS, and IGNORE good parts, you can make anything sound bad.

Agree? Most atheists don't read the Bible or study archeology. Would you agree?
Archaeology isn't the only problem with the bible, though.
*facepalm*

You're an idiot. Seriously.

You find your "archaeological proof" in a CHRISTIAN bookstore. Obviously, that's going to be biased by people who, like you, are desperately seeking proof of your outdated religion.

Secondly, I've known many, many more atheists and nonbelievers(including myself!) who have read the Bible, multiple times, multiple translations, and have read the ENTIRE THING. Not selected sections, but the entire thing, and found it to be completely ridiculous.

YOU are the one who reads "selected sections" and ignores anything and everything that contradicts your faith. You'd rather pretend it isn't there and doesn't exist, rather than open your eyes to the truth.

Grow the f-ck up already. Most atheists don't read the Bible or study archeology. Would you agree?
agree. they read what they find will support their theory...not what is really the truth.
The more they read Bible the more they don't believe it. Bible is not the word of God. It was written by humans. It consists of contradiction. I don,t believe the Bible. Most atheists don't read the Bible or study archeology. Would you agree?
True, but because I'm not interested and don't want to read something I find boring.
what is going to sell more copies , a book saying that exodus never happened and GOD had a wife even though theres no proof or a book that agress with the BIBLE and archaeology , this whole field is biased against the BIBLE because at the end of the day money talks
Theology and archaeology are for grownups. You wouldn't understand.
Isn't one bad part enough to make it all bad?

I killed 50 babies today, but let 1 billion live. That's good according to you.

(Chances are that you will find many books supporting Christianity in a Christian book store)
i used to read the bible hey, how do you think i became an atheist
I know very few atheists who would propose that the Bible is all fiction. Much of it is historical and much of it, like many myths, has its origin in fact. It is the supernatural bits which have never been proven and which lead me to conclude that a supernatural god does not exist.
As a source document to assist in piecing together our understanding of the Middle East 2,000 years ago it is of enormous interest.
how do you know if you're reading "bad" parts unless you have read it all?

on the other hand, reading archeology only from a Christian standpoint is precisely what you are accusing those who do not agree with your mindset to be doing.

do you not see this?
I am an atheist because I did read the bible. A lot of atheists have read the bible at least twice. What's the betting the archeologists you have spoken to were christians?
Atheists cherry pick and choose which verses they want taking them out of context. They get their scriptures from evilbible and skeptics annotated bible.

For instance they like to cherry pick out Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

They say that God is commanding Christians to dash babies against stones. However, look closely at that verse and it does not say that. That is added by Atheists.

In fact no where in the entire Psalm does God command to dash babies against stones and does not even speak in the entire Psalm. Yet cherry picking Atheists deliberately ignore that fact. All they have to do is read the whole Psalm to see that.

Further is the fact that verse 8 and 9 go together to explain verse 9. Here they are together without the verse numbers.

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Atheists are brainwashed and indoctrinated. They hear from other Atheists that God is a sadistical prick and they just blindly believe it. They read things out of context in the Bible and don't bother to research it or put it into context or anything. Atheism teaches a person to just believe whatever they are told and to not question it. Christianity teaches the opposite.

One of the most ridiculous verses they rip out of context to try to prove something is

Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

They say that Jesus is commanding Christians to go around slaughtering nonChristians. If they read the verses prior, they would realize Jesus had told a parable.

And here is the following verse:

28And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

So we see here that Jesus said His parable and then went to Jerusalem. So if the disciples were commanded to slaughter all those there who did not believe in Jesus, how come that is mentioned in verses 28 on?

Maybe some day Atheists will learn to think for themselves and see if what they are being told is really true or just a lie.

Would you agree that most atheists don't read the Bible or study archeology?

Well, I think there are a lot of atheists who do read the Bible but they read it with a closed mind towards God. They see what they want to see so they can justify their rebellion against God and live for the pleasures of this life.

As for atheists studying archeology to verify the Bible: I am not sure this is evidence enough alone to prove anything to them. They need to have an open mind towards God first.

For the unbeliever, seeing is believing.
For the true Christian, believing is seeing (because of the Spirit of God confirms the truth to them).

Anyways, as you may already know, the Bible is backed up in more than just the field of archeology. The Bible is supported by a ton of facts in the categories of...

(1) Scientific Evidences
(in Chemistry, Paleontology, Astronomy, Biology, Ect.)

(2) Prophecies Fulfilled
(The fulfillment of Messianic prophecies, Israeli prophecies, and the New Testament prophecy of man's denial of a world wide global flood)

(3) Textual verifications
(with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls)

(4) Spiritual encounters
(both good and evil)

(5) Miracles
(from prayers answered)

(6) An attack on God's Word
(with biblical cults, modern bible versions, the anti-creationist world movement, and the banning / restriction of the bible in other countries)

(7) Historical accounts (from many cultures)
%26amp; Evidences in Our Modern Day Culture (i.e. Cultural Apologetics)

(8) Archeology

(9) Laws Written in Our Hearts
(that tells us certain things are wrong)

(10) Laws of the Land
(Systems that govern, protect, punish, and hold together all societies (Which is a reflection of the after-life))

(11) Logic

(12) Mathematical equations and codes within the Bible

(13) Perfect Life Conditions of the Earth %26amp; the Beauty and Wonder within nature itself (that declares God's glory and Godhead)

(14) Testimonies of born again (Bible believing) Christians
(and their changed lives)

(15) The Time Tested Truths of the Moral Laws and Lessons within God's Word.

(16) The Numerous Intricate Hidden Messages %26amp; the Amazing Harmony of God's Word.

However, personally, I think the biggest flaw I see for the atheist is that they are not willing to look at both sides of the argument objectively. Most of them are not willing to put aside their preconceived biased opinions and look at the Christian perspective. I mean surely they cannot think that all preachers or missionaries or Christian authors are all speechless when it comes to answering the attacks that the atheists have against God's Word. For the truly knowledgeable %26amp; Spirit filled Christian: There is no moral flaws, or contradictions, or lack of evidence.

All they have to do is read some Christian commentaries or look at some Christian sites for the answers. In fact, I would recommend them to check out this online Christian commentary to begin with....

And this site for any Christian answers that they might have...

Thank you.
And I pray that my answer was helpful to you.

Sincerely,

~Jason.

Then answer me this: Why has no one EVER found any trace of anyone living in the Sinai? Forty years living in the desert and not one single clue of their existence left behind. Also, there was no Nazareth at the time of Jesus' birth. I have read the bible as a believer and as a non believer. If you are only looking to acknowledge the good parts and gloss over the bad, I would think that maybe you lack a conscience. I cannot just brush off some of those awful bible stories as if they are nothing. To do so would be intellectually dishonest.

Why does the bible state that the ark is on Mt. Ararat, when the Quran states that it is on Mt. Judi? Both locations have an odd boat shaped anomaly resting on them, and they look very much the same. However, there has not been any evidence to suggest that either of these objects are actually boats at all.
I do agree!

It's easy to pick things apart and misinterpret the meanings oth things when you want to find fault. To find the good in something you have to look for it! People are the same way. The bad is easy to see, but to find the good, you really have to search for it sometimes.

You won't get an intellectual debate from the Atheists here, at least if you do it will be very few of them. Most just want to put you down with no real basis to their arguements. They can't explain to you their 'views' only their negative "OPINIONS". It's a shame really!
Some aspects of the Bible have been supported, some have not. Some have been shown false. Since the Bible contradicts itself, no other evidence is needed to see that it is just a compilation of Jewish tribal stories and an astrological allegory at the end.
And I've been to Kansas and I can vouch that it's there.

Archaeologists who have been there also vouch for its existence, and for the accuracy of it's history books and guide books. And so did at least one stamp dealer.

But I never met a straw man, a tin man, or a cowardly lion, let alone saw a yellow brick road leading to a naughty old wizard.

P.S. Don't get me wrong; there may have been a dog called Toto. I didn't ask.
i would first off like to know what books you read also if you only read the good parts then you can make anything sound good. the thing about the bible is there are a lot of bad parts and some good parts. and the good parts are mostly common sense that any 2 year old would know.
Disagree
Are you on acid?
"Mainstream archeology backs up the Bible"

Lie
CITATION REQUIRED.

RANT NOTED.
Your statements prove you have no idea what you are talking about.

I'd wager you found those 'archeology' books in the Christian section, not in the Science section.
Mainstream archeology backs up the christian cult guide book only so far as to affirm that some of geographic locations mentioned in the cult guide book did indeed exist. There is nothing anywhere to back up the sexy and powerful god magicks claimed by the christian mind control cult.
arceoligy backs up te bible?r u dumb dinosaur fossils are in archeoligy and ARCHEOLIgists say that those dinosaurs where here b4 humans were.science is the art of real stuff dont come in here wit your zeus allah thor bullshit
I would say that I don't know what most atheists do. There is research indicating that atheist know more about christianity and the bible that actual christians do in general but I have never come across statistics on what percent of atheists actually read the bible. Your first mistake is you went to a Christian bookstore. Anytime you go to anything that is geared towards christians, it is biased. I know you can say the same for atheists, but when it comes to actual science that can not be said. I for one have read and studied the entire bible and the history of both the Old Testament and New Testament. I don't believe today's mainstream archeologists support the bible. Often christians get outdated information and try to pass it off as still valid or they take bits and pieces of real science, but negate the important parts. An example is the second law of thermodynamics, christians leave out the part where it says in a "Closed System" and that is the crucial part that discredits their arguments. At one time Archeologists used the bible as a reference, but since then the bible has been proved unreliable.
