How do I get Google to pull up my business?

I am a local Bible Bookstore. I am a very new business. I do not yet have a good website (although I do have an ugly thing that people might stumble on. I am working on a nicer one to advertise with).

So, I know that google isn't going to find my website unless people search the name directly; however, I know that there are lots of businesses without websites that come up on google when you search for that type of business.

For example, if I search for "body shops in Miami," there will be a list of shops, their phone numbers, their address and a map, even if there is no web site pertaining to that store.

How do I get google to display my name as a Bookstore, a Bible Bookstore, a Christian Bookstore etc. in Miami?

Do I contact google? Is there some type of online web presence business I have to sign up for? Is it whitepafges or yellowpages or any multitude of other sites?

1st, IF your site is that bad have a new one built or at least make your current one pleasing to your customers eyes.



2nd when you have done that, perform SEO on the site, one step at a time until all the current pages are ready to go



3rd deploy your new site, with a sitemap.xml , robot text file and a url text file



4th submit to search engines



5th continue developing your site content
