My dad knows I'm not a Christian but...?

I was researching other religions, like Wicca, and he found out. He said it's OK if I'm not a Christian like him....I assured him I wasn't Wiccan...Well now I'm Pagan with many Wiccan beliefs, and I'm scared to buy books %26amp; stuff. We never really talked about it, only that I wasn't Christian and that he'll accept it (not respect it, he said, only accept it).

Atleast he's not controlling me. Anyways, what should I do to buy books and stuff with him there? Just tell him what they're about, wait till he asks, don't even show him.

Will bookstores sell books like that to kids under 18 yrs. old? Maybe I could just run in the store and buy it really quick. My dad knows I'm not a Christian but...?
If you think he won't explode after telling him, then maybe telling him would be the best answer. Just say: Dad, I'm Pagan. That doesn't mean I worship the Devil or practice black magick, it means I revere and respect Nature and all it contains.

Bookstores definitely would sell books on Paganism to under 18 year olds, I don't see why they wouldn't. So you needn't worry.
Yes, you can buy books on Wicca if you're under the age of 18.

Your father said he would accept you not being Christian, so I'm not sure what you're afraid of here.

I would say go on as normal. If he asks, answer. But deliberately pointing out that you're researching non-Christian faiths might feel like rubbing his nose in it.

If your dad has a specific problem with Wicca, you should ask him what it is and address it.My dad knows I'm not a Christian but...?
im ganna tell you go back to Christian before its to late. The only book you need to be reading is the BIBLE the only one. Thats the only book you will ever actually NEED to read. If you think its broing study romans phillipians all pauls books study them deeply.
The only things with age restrictions in bookstores is pornography. So, yes, bookstores will sell you books about Wicca and Paganism. My dad knows I'm not a Christian but...?
Why wouldn't a bookstore sell you a non-pornographic book? You need to see the world.

Besides, It is highly likely that you will lose your belief in Wicca over time. I know several people who used to be Wiccans.
buy a book of comparative religions and that way you can maintain the illusion that you are looking into all religions.

Stick with Wicca /paganism though...the fertility rituals sound like fun!
It's your belief you can do what you want. If he doesn't ask then you don't need to tell him. :)

If he's accepting of your beliefs, it won't even be an issue.
THEY ALL sell books "like that" to kids under 18 years old.

Just go with a friend.
If any kind of religious affiliation needs "books and stuff" to carry on .....forget it.
tell him you think it might expand your mind.. what could he have against that?
Yes, bless your sweet little heart, bookstores will sell books on paganism/wicca to young buyers (with money). It sounds like your dad is more tolerant of your beliefs than you give him credit for. Go a little slow, however, on the book buying. Don't build a library overnight, but maybe one every couple of months or so will go over better.

As for the other 'stuff'' of your new path, I wouldn't set up and keep a permanent altar. Try something a little less conspicuous -- perhaps a pair of candles to start, with other objects kept safely in a corner of your closet, or a dresser drawer, until needed. Keep your rituals short and quiet. Wicca is more about intent than ritual anyway, and you'll find that you can accomplish as much with quiet meditation as you can with dancing sky-clad around a bonfire.

Blessed be, and may your path be ever open to you.
I wish I could tell you that I had such control over my daughter when she was your age but instead I was mostly "absent" due to an active military career but whenever I had the time I always told her to test all things and not to jump to fast conclusions particularly when it came to beliefs in general and what they initially purport to promise for I often find there is always the spin at the front end to seek converts.

Whatever you decide, for what it's worth, I can tell that in the very minimum you respect your dad and that not only speak volumes for him but for you as well.
you decide in what 2 seconds?? isnt that a bit quick? I think they will but it wont help you...ONLY JESUS SAVES...dont let the devil take you down the wrong road..
